Tata has officially released pictures of the upcoming third-generation Safari ahead of its planned launch in January. It is a three-row SUV based on the Tata Harrier, with the same engine and transmission options. The first production model rolled off the assembly line at the company's manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, and will make it to showrooms soon.

the new 2021 Tata Safari will be equipped by the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine as that of Harrier. This engine is well capable of generating 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It will be further mated with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.



The upcoming SUV is underpinned by the same Land Rover derived OMEGARC platform which forms the base for its 5-seater sibling and follows the same Impact 2.0 design philosophy of the company. As revealed at the AutoExpo, it is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than its smaller sibling although both SUVs share the same wheelbase of 2,741mm. It also gets a set of freshly designed alloy wheels.
