Recently, AlphaVector announced the launch of the first e-bicycle in India-Meraki by Ninety One. At a cost of Rs 29,999, the e-bicycle was introduced. In addition, the e-bicycle needs no licence and is designed to inspire millennials to reclaim the outdoors by exploiting India 's rising e-bike market.

With this introduction, AlphaVector is entering the global e-bicycle market, which is projected to hit $38.6 billion in 2025. As per the firm, from cities such as Mumbai, Banglore, Delhi , Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Meraki has already received 100 + pre-booking registrations.

A 250 watt, IP65 (Waterproof) BLDC motor with a top speed of 25 kmph is available for Meraki. The 6.36AH lithium-ion battery will last for 750 charging cycles and comes with a warranty of 1 year. The battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours, providing a full charge of up to 35 km.

With safety in mind, Meraki comes equipped with automatic brake cut-off e-brakes. In addition, as the bike can not be turned on without a key, the key-lock switch helps avoid tampering and mischief. With 4 driving modes, the e-bike comes with-Pedal Assist, Throttle, Cruise and Pedal. The throttle mode lets the e-bicycle work like a scooter without pedalling.

Meraki, designed and built in-house by AlphaVector, will be accessible via the company's retail network of 700 stores across 350 + cities in India as well as online through the company website.
