In order to regulate local transmission of COVID-19, the Kollam district administration has placed restrictions on vehicles movement. Starting Monday, a special even scheme is in effect for private cars.Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, private vehicles that end up with odd numbers are approved (1,3,5.7,9). On Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays, private cars that end up with even numbers (0,2,4,6,8). Furthermore, the law does not extend to all cars on Sundays.

The restrictions on existing public transports such as busses from the Kerala National Road Transport Corporation, private buses , taxis, or rick-shaws are not applicable to district administration Kollam. The requirements would also exclude vehicles plying for critical services, including transportation and goods equipment, used in emergency relief works or public services.

"You will show this during police searches on people who have an identification card from their job. Yet there has been no clear route for those without an identification card. Many have called for doubts in this regard. The District Collector was told, a decision was taken early, "said a District Administration official.
